What we did
Construction on Farley Hill Primary School, Arborfield Green, was completed in summer 2021, with SD’s specialists coming on board in its final phases to ensure that the school was ready for its first students in the Autumn. The new 420-place facility has been built by Wokingham Borough Council, with Reds10 as lead contractor.
Our team were on-site for five days and completed various finishing works, including several external cill repairs and external and internal door repairs.
The inclusive buildings for the site contain generous classrooms, specialist areas for design and food technology, PE and dance, and provides the latest digital teaching tools such as interactive teaching screens and sound systems. The school site was built via a number of modules, constructed in Yorkshire before being transported into place, a decision made to cut carbon emissions in the construction process.
We always love working on school and education projects and this was another very rewarding experience. The work was carried out swiftly and to a high standard, and everything was ready in time for first time in the September – we just hope the students like their new classrooms!
Results
Door, woodwork and window cill repairs were all carried out to an exacting standard and we are very happy with the results. All surfaces have been colour matched and repair work is completely blended in – a great job from the team on-site.
