The Bevan Health and Wellbeing Centre opened in early 2024, providing healthcare to the local community of Tredegar. The state-of-the-art facility has been designed to provide care closer to home and support the health and wellbeing of those living in the local area.
The SD Cosmetic Repairs team were invited by lead contractor Kier Construction to carry out a series of internal repairs, including damaged sills, scratched and damaged doors and doorframes, curtain walling, and chipped surfaces.
This was followed by expert stone repairs to the building’s front door, which required a lot of care and attention from our repairs technician, Chris, as they were required to look aged by time to match the rest of the stonework.
See Chris’ work here, which shows the stone archway repaired, while still matching the weather-worn look of the building’s exterior:
The Bevan Health and Wellbeing Centre is built on the former site of where the Tredegar General Hospital once stood and is located in the hometown of Aneurin Bevan, the founder of the NHS.
As a historic building, a great deal of time and attention needs to be paid to tackle any decay and deterioration, whilst preserving the original fabric of the structure. With every repair, we endeavour to retain and respect the heritage of older buildings and we are experts in handling these landmarks with care.
