The new primary school, based in Pontypridd, South Wales, is being developed by Morgan Sindall and will be housing up to 240 pupils plus 30 nursery places. The single story new build will be targeting net-zero carbon in its running and will include a double-court games area, a new playing field, car park and facilities for community events.
The project is the first school in Wales to be funded by the Mutual Investment Model (MIM), which is the revenue funding stream of Welsh Government’s Sustainable Communities for Learning Programme.
Morgan Sindall contracted SD to carry out a range of internal finishings for the development, including the mastic application to internal frames, all sanitaryware, soffits and expansion joints, as well as the work required to the building’s external frames.
This was a brilliant project to be involved in and we’re very proud of the work carried out by the SD sealants team. The new school is looking fantastic as it nears completion ready for opening later in the year – we’re looking forward to seeing the doors opened!
