The £300 million transformation of Candleriggs Square in Glasgow’s Merchant City is continuing to develop following the completion of its second major building – a 346-homes build-to-rent scheme, which the SD Team have been on-site helping prepare for completion ready for residents to move in.
From August 2023 through to this summer, the expert sealant applicators from SD have been on hand carrying out various internal and external works at Candleriggs.
Our dedicated team have spent the best part of a year working from mast-climbers and cherry pickers to ensure that the brand new apartments are flawless both inside and out.
Alongside this, SD has been working with Grahams Construction on a number of projects in the area over recent years, including the Buchanan Wharf development from 2021 – 2023.
The Buchanan Wharf complex, designed by Stallan-Brand architects, is one of Scotland’s largest development projects and is a collection of five mixed-use buildings, including Clyde Place House, Tradescroft, Windmillcroft, Wellcroft, Grays Hill, and Buildings 5 and 6.
The premises are used for a variety of purposes, including office space – the European headquarters of Barclays Bank and the headquarters of the Student Loans Company are both located in the complex.
The complex includes landscaped public spaces and cycle lanes, 324 residential apartments as well as local amenities such as a restaurant and retail space on the ground floor of Building One.
The SD Sealants team have been on hand to support on nearly every building within the Buchanan Wharf development, carrying out various internal and external works.
It’s been fantastic to have been a part of each of these projects in Glasgow, and to be involved in two of the most exciting developments taking shape in the city.
