The conference, which runs from the 10th – 11th November will see SD’s Marine division travelling 4,000 miles across the pond to showcase their services after an unprecedented year of growth for the business.
Marine Director Gareth Preston will be joined by fellow specialists Val Corneby, Paul Thomas, Steve Shaw and Kim Sealey at the event, which is the world’s only exhibition exclusively dedicated to connecting the buyers, suppliers and industry leaders of the cruise design sector.
SD will be highlighting its complete turn key service, which includes electrical, hard surface repair, French polishing, upholstery, painting & decorating for both refurbished and new build ships.
On attending the conference, Director of SD Marine Gareth Preston said: “We are honoured to be attending the Cruise Ship Interiors Expo this year, it’s such an important event for our industry and to be able to showcase our expertise will be a huge win for the business.
“Everyone in this industry has had, and in many cases are still having, a tough couple of years and to be able to get together and commemorate the sector getting back on track and thriving will be something very special. We’re very lucky at SD to have had a great year in business, and this feels like the perfect way to celebrate and get ready for new and excited challenges ahead.”
Despite a difficult period for the industry at large, the SD team were able to dedicate the first six months of 2021 to renovating two luxury cruise ships on behalf of Windstar Cruises – its namesake yacht, the Wind Star, and the world’s largest sailing ship, Wind Surf.
Gareth added: “The Marine team here work incredibly hard year-round and we are delighted that their talents will be recognised at such a prestigious event. We’re now just looking forward to getting there!”
Founded in 1973, SD teams and Cosmetic Repairs originated as a family run business in Somerset that specialised in the supply and application of sealant.
Since then, the business has gone from strength to strength, becoming one of the UK’s largest sealant and cosmetic repair companies, with nine offices across England, Scotland and Wales. Its Marine Interiors division launched in 2019 and offers a full, turnkey, design-and-build service, adapted for the cruise, ferry and offshore sectors.
