What we did
Sitting just off Centenary Square in central Birmingham, 3 Arena Central is the culmination of work that began in 2007 and was designed to provide Grade A commercial space with 13 upper floors.
While Arena Central benefits significantly from its location close to Birmingham’s public transport hubs, it has three basement floors that provide secure car parking and cycle storage spaces with associated lockers and shower facilities, much of which the SD team has worked on.
The SD Cosmetic Repairs team were asked to carry out mastic application and finishing work to the arena, on behalf of contractor Galliford Try – a regular and trusted customer of SD Teams.
Working on such a large commercial building was a welcomed challenge for the SD team. They took on a range of projects, from bathroom damage to corridor scuffs caused during construction works. The team enjoyed working on this project and will continue to work with Galliford Try in the future.
Results
The team had two sealant technicians on-site carrying out mastic application to everything from sinks and toilets to tiled floors, lobbies, reception areas and lifts. By fixing the damaged items, there was no need to replace or waste them, resulting in zero need for expense approval, while also supporting environmental initiatives.
