What we did
The SD team worked on Bristol’s finest art gallery, the Royal West of England Academy. This historical Grade 2* listed building hosts five naturally lit galleries and is said to be one of the best exhibition spaces in the country. It has a range of exhibitions that celebrates the very best of historic and contemporary British art by several of the country’s leading artists.
The SD Cosmetic Repairs team was asked to carry out work on the gallery, on behalf of an award-winning construction company, Beard Construction – a regular and trusted customer of SD Teams.
Working on such a prestigious and historically significant building was a great honour for the SD team that was very proud of their tile repair work. The team had the skills and knowledge to recondition and renovate internal and external surfaces that were thought to be unfixable.
Results
The SD team carried out restorative work at the gallery, working on tiles that had been cracked, chipped and damaged. The expertly trained technicians worked hard to ensure that all repairs were finished to perfection and that all tiles, some of which have been there for decades, were meticulously colour-matched to the original ones.
