The team travelled over 1,500 miles on the 23rd of November to complete hard surface repairs on a large cruise ship. In an ongoing partnership, SD was contacted to restore surface damage to public areas on a ship that houses 962 cabins, 10 restaurants, 10 bars and much more.
The SD cosmetic technicians used sustainable methods to correct damages that had occurred to certain interior items. The team were able to repair items rather than replace them which means the client can reduce the amount of waste they are responsible for, and ultimately save costs by not having to install new fittings and fixtures.
Project manager, Gareth Preston, was on site for the final four days of the project and was able to catch up with the team and meet other key project leaders. He said “It was a very successful trip for the SD Marine Team who delivered a range of complete repair services on an extensive list of surfaces. The team were able to fix any unsightly chips, scratches and cracks and professionally repair the items to an exacting standard.
“We really enjoyed working on this project and look forward to continuing our relationships with the cruise industry. We have many plans for 2023 and plan to attend more cruise events including the CSI Expo Miami Beach on the 6th of June. These events have been exceptional for reaching a diverse range of marine and cruise professionals and we do enjoy showcasing the amazing talent of our technicians.”
The SD Team prides itself on listening carefully to clients and has spent a lot of time at major interior shows worldwide to present its efforts for a more sustainable future. The ethos of the business is always repair, don’t replace.
